They are not that hard to rebuild unless you have to get into the impulse mechanism or have to remagnetize the magnet. We got a book in one the the antique tractor magazines, don't remember where or the title or the author, that gave directions, quite good, how to rebuild most of the common magnetos. Not too much to them, really. My son did one for his Farmall MD and had never done one before.
