Massey Ferguson almost got sucked in to the White company but they got themselves out.
The fallacy to Minneapolis's management was they were too solvent. The asset they had that White wanted was their employees retirement account. White continued to make basically a Oliver tractor that a Oliver customer could run. Their tractor did not have the lugging ability that the ex-Minneapolis customer needed.
