Several years ago I bought an LA 150 from the local Deere dealer. I could have bought it at Lowe's for a lot less. I thought the dealer would make the difference. They didn't. The mower was a total POS, and they didn't stand behind anything. It was almost impossible to start after it sat for a week, it was slow, ragged the grass, burned oil from day one, and guzzled gas. In fact, it was so slow that I couldn't get a lawn sweeper to work behind it. I finally gave up and sold it at a loss out of disgust. No more green and yellow pre-rusted tin for me.

Today's Featured Article - Restoration Story: Fordson Major - by Anthony West. George bought his Fordson Major from a an implement sale about 18 years ago for £200.00 (UK). There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
