All the TO 35s and MF 35s had hi-lo trannys. How do you know it is a Massey Ferguson 35? Look at the serial tag on the dash. If it shows MF 35 at the top of the tag then it should be. If it shows TO 35 then it is a Ferguson TO 35. Unless the front hood emblem has been changed if it shows Ferguson then that is what it is. If it has the triple diamond then it is a Massey Ferguson 35. The special came with the pan style seat and the 3rd digit in the prefix letters "should" be F if it is a Special, but there have been a very few that has the 3rd letter being a M which means it is a dual stage clutch and will have live hydraulics.
