I never understood why Deere reused model numbers like 4320, or say 4520 on compacts. I have a '70 4520 that I bought used from the Deere dealer by me about a decade ago. It was setting out on the lot for sale while I was there picking up parts. I asked about it, how much. It needed work. The fella said something upper '20's or lower 30's, I don't recall. I asked him if he was serious, so he put on his coat and said lets go look. We walked out the door and I headed to towards the 4520, and he headed off another direction, so I turned and followed him. He got to two new compacts with cabs and stuff, repeated the price and told me to look them over. I asked what they were and he said "4520's". They did say 4520 on them, and they were new and fancy, but they weren't 4520's at all. I pointed across the lot to THE 4520 and asked how much. Because it had new batteries in it, $5,000. We went inside, I wrote him a check, took it home that day.
