It's not really rocket science. Back in the '70s, I worked at Detroit Diesel in a "warehouse consolidation program". Took us 5 years. Built a new warehouse, dozens of stacker cranes, miles of conveyor, dozens of computers. This was before the day of the Internet OR PC's. It was near the airport, mainly because DDA would guarantee if you got your order in by 1 pm or so, we would have it out the door to a plane by 8 PM. We had virtually every part for a DDA engine or transmission in stock and would ship all around the world. Need a new block in S. Africa for a piece of mining equipment? It would be on a plane that night. We called it the "Red Run". Most of our shipments were to distributors and the bigger ones had substantial inventories that we would replenish daily, but if they didn't have a part and a customer needed it, we'd get it out that day.
That level of service is now common. We have a daily "cart" with McMaster Carr that we put all kinds of parts in and normally have them the next day. Any company with any volume (Zappo's, Amazon, etc.) has a first-rate logistics system in place.
I'm amazed (and come to expect) that when I buy appliance parts, auto or tractor parts, hydraulic hoses, computer parts, etc that they're at my door within a few days.
We sell tractor parts! We have the parts you need to repair your tractor - the right parts. Our low prices and years of research make us your best choice when you need parts. Shop Online Today. [ About Us ]

The year was about 1967 and my father found a good used Ford 601 tractor to use on the farm instead of "Bob", our old mule. Now my grandfather had had this mule since the mid 40's and he was getting some age on him. S
