As i used to have an onfarm general repair shop over the years i have dealt with every equipment dealer in the area regardless of brand.

Regardless of brand when dealers were small the parts service was usually fast and good with overnight delivery common for most parts( back then a customer mattered)And the parts guys knew their parts

But with the brand merging and independent dealer elimination going on over the years to fewer and bigger out lets the service has deteriorated to the point that most parts are no longer stocked and have to come from a distribution center somewhere else (the further away the longer the wait time)and todays parts men haven't a clue what a average part looks like if their life depended on it, all they know and work with is numbers. If they punch in a wrong number you'll get the wrong part.

In my neck of the woods JD has the worst reputation for delivering the wrong parts(sometimes twice in a row on the same part)and one is very lucky indeed to get the part on the next delivery run(the parts delivery truck runs normally twice a week but if business is slow only once).

Case/NH was the best as it was a longtime independent dealer with lots of parts stocked and fast turn around of orders.

But this dealer has been bought out 3 years ago by a bigger outfit and it is now spiraling downwards like the rest of them.

AGCO,..well you know the story,..AGCO sucks. they have to many brands to serve and White seems no longer to exist in their main line up.

My Belarus dealer is the smallest dealer of all(only a 3 man outfit) but it has so far the best parts service of all. They ship straight from the distribution center to the customer, no pit stop at the dealer first.

Today's Featured Article - Listening to Your Tractor - by Curtis Von Fange. Years ago there was a TV show about a talking car. Unless you are from another planet, physically or otherwise, I don’t think our internal combustion buddies will talk and tell us their problems. But, on the other hand, there is a secret language that our mechanical companions readily do speak. It is an interesting form of communication that involves all the senses of the listener. In this series we are going to investigate and learn the basic rudimentary skills of understanding this lingo. ... [Read Article]
