S/N is stamped onto a stainless steel tag riveted to the left side of the clutch housing. If the plate's missing you're pretty much out of luck.
However you can get figure the year your tractor rolled out of the factory by looking at date codes on the major castings. Date code character format is xx-yy-z, where xx is month, yy is day, and z is year the casting was poured. (For the year code, X = 1952, Y = '53 and Z = '54).
Usually a tractor was assembled within 4 - 6 weeks of the newest (highest...) casting code.
