I have A few of the dead blow hammers in my collection. They can be call no bounce too. The question has been answered. It does not mark are damage the things you are hammering on. They are good to have around the shop. As someone said, some do have A steel face on them.
In the top left you will see six of mine dead blow hammers. I have A lot of difference kind. I have 477 hammers hanging up now.
