This is me in'57 when I was just shy of 16 "skimming" the boiling sap at my wife's granddad's.
Lots of good memories there, he had a nice enclosed saphouse with lights and a radio.
Another added benefit; the chicken coop was only about 50' away so we could gather an egg or two
and drop it in the boiling sap when we wanted a snack.
