Well, we made it through the auction. Weather was descent, but windy. The big eqt did not do so well. Here are a few of the results:
1981 JD 7720 Combine w/24'Grain Platform & 3100 Hrs - $6500.00 (Biggest disappointment) 1979 JD 6600 Combine w/20'Grain Platform & 4400 Hrs - $2600.00 (Maybe 2nd disappointment) 1976 White 2-135 w/8000 Hrs - $6500.00 (I bought it back, it was way too nice) Gravity Wagon- $3600.00 Grain Cart - $4500.00 1954 JD 60 Restored - $7100.00 (That's right! Family tractor but only one bidder was a family member) 1948 Ford 8N - $1750.00 1951 D Case - $300.00 (Wasn't advertised and was not running) The tillage did way better than expected. Trailer load of Antique Tractor Parts did very well. All in all it was a good enough sale. I am OK with the prices, but would have liked to see the combines and trucks do better. If we would have had 2" of rain in the last couple of days I think more hands would have come out of their pockets. Glad it's over. Thanks a lot for the well wishers.

The year was about 1967 and my father found a good used Ford 601 tractor to use on the farm instead of "Bob", our old mule. Now my grandfather had had this mule since the mid 40's and he was getting some age on him. S
