Yesterday I gave my WC Allis Chalmers it's not quite yearly tune-up/oil change. All went well until I opened the transmission check plug. a lot of brown liquid came out. I then opened the drain plug and let it all out. She has to set out year round because i don't have shelter for her. I think the water got in through the shifter because the dust cover is cracked and nasty. I plan on replacing it soon. My question is, How do I get the moisture out of the transmission? Should I put a mixture of diesel fuel and gear oil in it and run it a short while, and then replace with straight gear oil? What have you done in this situation?
