My 321 does not have rod bearings (mine could be an older version) I have ran my engine in a Case 444 for Eight years . It only runs at idle or wide open- tough conditions. Always run straight 30 wt. Texaco Havoline with no problems. Take rod or crank to another specialist and let them take a look at it. Multi weight oil should not have done this.It's a good idea to change a new engines oil within an hour after crankig it up. Lots of metal suspended in oil and with no filter you are just looking for problems.
Believe engine may have encountered other problem and blaming it on oil was an easy way out.
