Modern view is OK if everyone is responding to the original post. But this board has turned into kind of a "coffee shop"- we have gotten familiar with each other's personalities, and sometimes we respond to one of the responders, not to the original poster. Classic view is the only way to keep track of those responses.
For example: Person A says something in a post. B makes a smart-aleck response to A's post. C makes a response to B, like "LOL, that's funny, right there." In classic, you can see who is responding to whom. In modern, its chronological, and you can't make any sense of it. On classic, you can tell that I'm responding to mEl with this post; on modern, you can't tell.

There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard.
