The last time we had the cooker going it ate wood too. We had a really stiff wind that day, pulled the heat right out of the "firebox". Next time we go to the woods the taps might get pulled(assuming we get to them in a timely fashion this year). Talking 40's for lows most of the rest of the week here. That would be warm enough long enough to make the buds start to pop. And we didn't get much the last "perfect" sapping weather day we had any way.
