Mike, I know what you mean about traffic in the city of Honolulu but don't let that ever discourage you from going back. My wife and I were having lunch the other day and counted twelve hammerhead construction cranes working in the city. A lot has happened in the last twenty years there. I don't think that they participated in the recession. Just stay on the H-1 West till you get to Ko Olina and you will find it to be as beautiful as any place that you have ever been. For many years we have been going to Hawaii every other year and stay about three weeks each time we go. We will alternate from staying on O'ahu and Maui one trip and the Big island and Kaua'i the next. I think that other than a few subdivision and city streets, I have driven down about every road in the state and where there are no roads I've seen the area in a sail boat or a helicopter.
