Around here (MA) there's a premium on them because they can be used as lawn mowers, and that's the only way a lot of non-farmer guys can justify any kind of tractor purchase to their wives.
But if you're buying to actually do some "real" work, I'd absolutely go for a Super A (or even an H). You're in the same ballpark pricing-wise (and around here even less than what a cub would cost). And you'll have much more ability.
Don't go with an A (probably more popular where you are, as they are here). You'll regret not having the hydraulic lift of the super.
Also - if you can - buy a tractor WITH the implements you want. You'll often pay a lot less for them if you get it as a package as opposed to individually.
Remember a plow and/or a set of cultivators could run you $500 for each, and might be difficult to find.
