SS as a retirement income stream is NOT an entitlement. We've all been paying into this "forced savings account" since we started working. One can argue about the financial stability of the system, whether rates need to be raised or benefits reduced, but the fact is that it is US putting a portion of OUR PAYCHECK away for retirement. TAKING a Retirement SS check is NOT theft. I don't have a pension from any company and have been saving in IRAs and 401Ks for decades. Is it theft if my savings grow over time and I end up with more than I put in? No, of course not.
Now, the REAL problem with SS is the Disability portion. I know more people who will lie and finagle to get on Disability in their 50's. I know one guy who retired at 53 with several million dollars in the bank. Didn't need SS to live. Very frugal, cheap guy ALL his life. Didn't have kids largely because they're expensive. Spends his days at the casinos. At 58 he caught Lyme disease and had a rough time. Pretty much pulled through but he managed to get on SS Disability because, supposedly, he "can't work". Heck, he COULD work but he doesn't have to due to his lifelong savings. That's his choice and I don't begrudge him that. But now he's drawing a SS check years before he would normally able to do it? THAT'S theft (and/or fraud) in my view.
Lawyers are advertising all the time about how they can help if your SS Disability is denied. It's a scam on the US taxpayer. And largely why the SS Disability program is going to be broke soon.

My model "H" even had the old style fronts with plenty of tread. My "L" fronts were mismatched Sears Guardsman snow tires, which I promptly tossed. Well, although these tires were in good shape as far as tread was concerned, they looked real sad. All were flat, but new tubes fixed that. In addition to years and years of scuffing and fading, they had paint splattered on
