I had a 630 that looked like that, it was a '49, but had Budd wheels, 4-71 detroit and a 5&3. Also had a 450 with the 503 and 5&3. It didn't have the butterfly hoods. It had a log bunk and a tandem axle log trailer. I also had a 950 with a 6-71 detroit and a 9 speed, hauled grain doubles with it. It was too slow for freeway hauling. Factory it was a tandem truck with a 5&3, I shortened the frame and put a faster single rear axle and the 9 speed in it. My favorites are the '47 to '53 GM trucks. I have had a '52 Chevy pickup since I was 14, 44 years now. Just sold a '48 4100 Chevy, it had the original 216, 4 speed and a little 3 speed brownie, no 2 speed. It hauled cattle for a registered Hereford herd from Central Oregon to the Portland Stock Yards until 1998....James

There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard.
