Had a few break off of woods trailers. Going across field back to the yard, soon the whole load twisted didn't really notice till the tractor bogged down and I looked back and saw a wheel/ axle stub behind. Got it limped the rest of the way in with the trailer chained to the loader(trailer got scrapped) A second load we had on a home built trailer out to the woods with wheels and axels from a grain drill, the first or second load the axel frame under the load twisted. Didn't break the light grain drill axle assembly, slightly twisted yes. Had to unload that one to get it home and put a different axle assembly, a heavy pipe and chopper axles, under it.
Had the wheel go off the chopper wagon half full last year, jacked it up and put the wheel back on. That reminds me I have to see what I can find on salvage equipment around here for lug bolts for it(have only 3 of 6 holding wheel on to get it home).
Thankfully never lost one on the road, that I can recall.
