1979 Chevy 454 one ton dually. Came to a stop sign out in the middle of nowhere, revved up, wouldn't move. Those were the days before cell phones, so walk to the nearest farm house, borrow a phone to call a wrecker. Wrecker comes, lifts the front, we're going down the road and I see a set of duals move out, out, out taking the axle with it, but we stopped before losing the whole thing. Bad inner bearing.
A couple of years ago I got into town at about midnight one Friday evening. I'm at the table eating dinner about 1 AM, I'm told that the AC-B is setting out by the road minus a rear, and get an apology to no end. It was dark, so I didn't see it when I pulled in, so I finished eating, then went out to take a look. Yep, walked right out of a rear rim and tire, my fault. I had heard it moving around, but didn't tighten the adjusters, so it walked out of one. I went to the barn, fired up a Deere, went out there picked the little B up, set it down in the barn, fixed it the next day.
