Ran into that situation with my deuce-and-a-half. Army didn't use license plates any more than ignition keys. Here, you need a light over the plate, another problem. I cut a hole in the bottom of one of the complicated tail lights, glued in a clear plastic plate. Under the light got some 1/4" bar stock that was bolted to the truck frame. Sturdy plate holder I didn't need to worry about again.
That's a work truck isn't it? Whatever works... I also had to deal with wrong height pintle, civilian is far closer to the ground. We have a choice between "farm use" and a farm plate. I didn't want the restrictions that came with "farm use" (no actual plate).
