We always had a bundle wagon on each side pitching into the feeder. I never heard about anyone getting into the belt. We were more concerned that the flat belt would slap together and cause the bundle team(s) to run away. Dad would never allow a 2-cylinder tractor to be used to power the thresher as it would slap the belt every once in awhile. Runaway horses were far more likely to hurt someone than the flat belt.
