I hope your recovery goes well and is greatly successful. My 70 year wife has had three back surgeries, the most recent one about 2 years ago. She has about 5 or 6 vertebrae fused with steel rods on each side of the spine. Her recoveries took quite a bit of time and they were painful, but she is much better off for having had the surgeries than she was and would have become if she hadn't had them
I hope all goes well for you. Be dogged about following the doctors directions and your physical therapy if you have any.
