We got some free lime a couple years back. The local Campbell Soup Co. uses some type of lime in their washing water to clean fresh vegetables. The waste water goes to a huge lagoon for settling. They will truck it out and spread it as sludge with a huge tractor with a monster disc that tills it into the ground. A steady flow of semi tankers brings the stuff and transfers it into a tank pulled behind the disk. It is amazing that the tanker takes 15 min to empty into the spreader tank.
I thought it funny that all the trucks were driven by young Amish men and most had their wives along in the truck.
The only drawback was they want to do this in July-Aug. We had to grow wheat the previous year.
