The most important part of all this was the fact that Germany and Japan by the end of 43 were at 100% war production. That means that everything they made was for the war effort. No civilian anything to include clothing. The USA never exceeded 45% of total capacity dedicated to the war effort because that's all that was required.
The list of companies that got in on war production is amazing. Don't forget IH, Cat and others with construction equipment as part of the war effort too. I read somewhere that JD made some artillery pieces. Don't know for sure on that. Would have been towed, not self propelled.

There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard.
