Hi Tom - The I&T shop manuals are excellent - better than the original operator/parts manual. Should be available from our hosts - Yesteday's Tractor. Your problem could be weak spark or fuel shortage. Check to see how much you have at a plug by cranking after it quits. 1/4" or more works great - 1/16 or less won't, and indicates mag problems. A weak coil is a probable cause - points/condenser are usually the same cold or hot. If you've got good spark when hot, check for an obstruction in the fuel system. you should have a good flow out the fuel line at the carb, and that system sometimes gets clogged with crud. I've even had the fuel shutoff assembly (above the sediment bowl) plug up! Good luck; drom me a note if you have more questions!
