If I understand correctly, the old glycol based synthetics (remember the old Union Carbide "rabbit" synthetic?) were not compatible with petroleum based oil. The diester based synthetics (which would be about everything on the market today) is compatible with petroleum based oil. As is mentioned below, there are a whole bunch of synthetic/petroleum blends out there now days. At the time, I took the UC oil and poured some of it in a container with petroleum oil. They did not blend. They sat one on top of each other like oil and water would. I did the same with several diester based synthetics and they blended with the petroleum oil and did not separate. The vast majority of 2 stroke chainsaw and snowmobile brand name oils are synthetic/petroleum blends. This info is several years old now and probably worth just what you paid for it.
I would contact the manufacturers of the oils in question and ask.
