The dairy farmer I worked for as a kid, who was very driven and extremely successful as both a farmer and as a businessman had a Dearborn seven footer on his 8N. He mowed all the hay for 60 milkers plus young stock with it for twenty years. He mowed what struck me as very fast with it. I used to ride with him sometimes in the evening, which is when he did most of the mowing. When he got to the corner he would lift the quadrant, quickly put his left hand on the fender to keep me from falling forward, slam on the brakes, shift into reverse, back around then quadrant down and into third and off again. The mower stayed on year 'round and it seemed to always mow very clean.

After some research of convert or not, I decided to go ahead, the main reason being that this tractor was a working tractor, not a show tractor (yet). I did keep everything I replaced for the day I do want to restore her to showroom condition.
