Might have been better off to not even have initiated a claim. A few years ago I hit a deer at 60 MPH in a Suzuki Sidekick which had liability insurance (I normally only carry liability on older vehicles for this reason as well as cost, and they will want to total it anyhow). I never even notified the insurance company, and purchased the parts and repaired it myself, then drove it off and on for a couple years, then sold it less than a year ago. Parts to fix was roughly $500 not including paint, and it was not worth the cost of painting.......drove just fine. If it were me, I would cancel the claim, and repair it, and drive without airbags. But that is me.
