Hello all! Lawnmower is giving me trouble. 17hp Kawasaki liquid. Starts and runs great, but after an hour or more of mowing, it starts to cut out and lose power. It seems a quick choke will kinda bring it back, sorta. Don't think it's fuel-related, though. There is no vacuum in the gas tank, and the tank is absolutely spotless with no water. I've had the carb apart and it was all pretty and clean. Clean fuel filter, too. If it was a gas supply issue, you'd think it would take less than an hour to start acting up. But, could the fuel pump be getting weak?
I tried pulling the coil wires one at time when it was running bad to see if it was a spark issue, but it wasn't clear to me if one or the other was the culprit. I suspected one or both coil packs starts quitting when it gets hot enough. They're kind of expensive and I don't just want to throw parts at it. And, the quick choke thing seems to work, but it can't mow until I go park it and let it sit for a couple hours.
I kinda lean towards the fuel pump, but is there a common electrical issue when hot on these? Thank you for any clues.

I pulled the head, and soaked the stuck valves with mystery oil overnight, re-installed the head, and bingo, the compression returned. But alas, my carb foiled me again, it would fire a second then flood out. After numerous dead ends for a replacement carb, I went to work fixing mine.I soldered new floats on the float arm, they came from an old motorcycle carb, replaced the packing on the throttle shaft with o-rings, cut new ga
