We all know that parts are much higher priced than they used to be. I have never done enough business with any one dealer or parts store to get any significant discount. It appears that lately some are tending towards allowing discounts off prices to regular customers. I am not talking about the 25% off the full list that no one would ever be charged but say 20% off a real price. Everyone at the local parts store knows me, but recently when I said that I would pay cash he said well give me your account anyway and I was actually surprised by the price. I don't have an account at the local Ford dealer, but when picking up a part today, he asked my information, which another counter guy doesn't bother with, and again I was surprised by the price. Maybe these guys are thinking that they need to acknowledge online sales.
