Here in N. TX. I think the Month of May 2015 will go down as the wettest month on record. Nothing has been planted nor harvested here this year. Fields and pastures have been saturated all month since all the rain preceding May and May itself where it has rained almost every day. A week ago the weather forcaster said that where we usually get 7 inches or rain, forget the time span mentioned, surely not since Jan., this year we have 20" and that was before this past week where it rained every day with about every 3rd day being between 1 and 2".
My hay crop is starting to turn yellow having completely seeded out and moving on to the dormant end of life. A lot of it is down, like wheat goes down with weather related problems but it is not a harvesting problem for hay like combining would be for wheat. Going to take a week when the rain finally stops to at least get into the field and at least another to get the crop cured and up. Getting 2 weeks with no rain this year I think will be a total joke.
So it's feast or famine here. Drought or monsoon. Makes no difference from a crop loss standpoint. Glad I don't depend on this farm for my existence. Would be in the soup line for sure.

There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
