tomorrow for you. To run the loader pump off the front of the crank there is a round hub
that bolts to the front of the crank. It is has a splined 'female' hole in the center.
Then there is a stub shaft that goes from the hub to your pump. My shaft stripped out
once. Amazingly enough I just went to the local New Holland dealer and they had one to
match! Go on EBAY, type in '8N hydraulic pump drive hub' or 'drive shaft.' You'll see
what I mean. Have fun!
Yep, I found the couplers, drive shafts, and a couple other misc parts for attaching the loader's hydraulic pump on Ebay and a couple other websites. I noticed they had 2 or 3 different length shafts for various applications and so I would just need to line up the loader with the tractor and then take measurements from the engine's crank pulley out to the coupler on the hydraulic pump to know what length drive shaft would properly fit mine.
Well I want to thank everyone who lended a helping hand...it felt good to know there are still people out there who don't mind taking their time to share information :) , and with that being said I recently have talked with a couple guys on here who put one of these loaders on their Ford 9n/8n and they had some really good points by saying that although the Davis 100 loader can be hooked up to the Ford 9n and be used for what it was made to do, this particular loader is quite heavy and puts a lot of stress on several different parts on the tractor and so we were thinking it would be best just to use our 9n for post hole digging and misc other work, and to look around for a little bit bigger tractor which would handle this Davis loader with more ease. They both mentioned looking for a newer tractor possibly in the 1960's/1970's including the Case, Massey Ferguson, and Ford model 335, 2000, & 3000 but we would also like to hear what others think would be a better candidate for this loader than the Ford 9n keeping in mind me and my wife are on social security disability and so the budget would only allow us about a total of 2,000 for another tractor and would take us about a year or so to save it up.
