There appears to be a grapple (spelling?) fork to the left with a white sign attached. They were used to pickup loose hay from a hay rack. Into the 1970's my uncle used one to lift eight small square bales at a time. The bales had to be stacked in the right pattern for the grapple to hold them together. We could only get 64 bales on a 14 foot long hay rack that was normally loaded with 90+ bales.
I've never seen anything like the large frame in the fore ground.
