I have had State Farm for many years now. I could find insurance for a little less but just keep State Farm because of the way they have treated us in the past.
A guy crossed the center line on a country road and hit my wife. Our car was 8 days old. Rather than deal with the other guys insurance I filed a claim under my collision coverage. They fixed the car. Came very close to totaling it because the repair bill was 70% of the car price. State law says if the repair bill is 75% of the car price they must total it. We got the car back and in 2 months the standard transmission started making noise. It was found out the body repair shop did not fill the transmission with oil. Called State Farm and the adjuster came out a verified the low oil. Since I had used a State Farm certified shop they agreed to replace transmission. The next day the adjuster calls and says the transmission put the total cost over the 75%. They totaled the car and paid the loan off.
A while back my 27 year old son borrowed my pickup to haul some stuff for a friend. He lives in my house but is not on my insurance. State Farm ask me....... Does your son usually drive this pickup? "NO" Does your son own his own car with insurance? "YES" OK your covered. The truck was totaled. They sent me a check minus my deductible. I still enjoy accident free status.

There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard.
