York is where the M88 Recovery Vehicles were built about an hour from me. I bought a set of chains advertised in the Baltimore paper for $9.00. They were never used. I had to cut the length so they would fit my garden tractor. They also had the V bars. We tested those M88's running drawbar pull on them. We also tested the M1 Abrams. There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard.
