Russ that's 258 times someone had to kill someone who was threatening them. That isn't how many were wounded or just deterred by someone defending themselves with a gun. I read somewhere that on the average that legal owners of guns use said guns to defend themselves and others of the average of 700 times a day. I don't think that number is right and is just a tad inflated. Even then it only amounts to about 255,000 or so time a year and considering the size of the population in some city areas I would guess it's possible. You cite property crimes but not assaults, rapes and other reasons people have defended themselves. It's very easy to play with numbers. Look at the melt down. Head lines were reading "worst ever day on Wall Street". Yet it only fell about 50% when in 1929 it fell much further than that. Now money lost it's a different story. All you have to do is add or leave out one or 2 small details. The big thing is on gun control there is no fair and unbiased numbers. You have numbers from the FBI, controlled by an appointee appointed by the president numbers that are going to reflect the president's agenda. On the other side for the time being you have sources like the NRA. But no one is neutral in this.

Amana Colonies served as a respite where we ate a family style lunch that sustained us with more food than could reasonably fit into our ample physiques. The show at Ankeny
