We joke about it now if I bring it up, my father was fit to be tied with our 532 ford baler at one point, as he rounded a knoll one time and let out some steam as I recall, he did mention something about putting that baler out of its misery with what I suspect would be some concentrated fire from whatever was easiest to grab at the time LOL ! Of course that did not happen,. but the thrower was soon removed permanently, was wrecking good bales for some reason. I found a new job standing on the wagon hitch, guiding bales into the wagon as well as running the baler and switching from the back when a break was needed.
I learned something here, can't win them all when it comes to hay, best to graciously exit the field until such time you can do better, whether it rains, snows sleet, hail!! To heck with it when it gets that frustrating, get it off the field and start over LOL! Hard to see someone get that frustrated, but that passed, worked fine later and it was mostly that darned thrower too ! Though he did call a good friend over to go over that baler, I was starting to worry about the guy prior to !!!

Amana Colonies served as a respite where we ate a family style lunch that sustained us with more food than could reasonably fit into our ample physiques. The show at Ankeny
