No Mark, pay attention to what is being said. Unlike you, I do not wish to control other people's behavior to suit my whims and accommodate my idea of suffering. I said please don't run for office, not, people like you should be banned from running for office. Most of us don't think that way. But, unfortunately there are some who do and for freedom's sake, it is best if they don't have the power to act on their easily offended sensitivities.
BTW, I also have significant hearing loss from turbine engines but I regard that as MY problem to deal with, not everyone else's. Good grief man go back and read how angry you sound because someone let their truck idle.
Now, let's put this in perspective. How much suffering could it possibly cause you? And, what is your threshold for deciding when your suffering should limit other people's freedom?
