Dad had a Newfoundland/ black Lab mix that sniffed a woodchuck the first time it encountered one. Well, that wood chuck latched onto the soft part of doggie's nose and would not let go. Dog finally shook it off his nose after quite a bit of yelping. Something snapped in him right then. He took it by the neck and shook the life out of it. Before that, he was just curious about other animals, after that, the only animal he didn't try to kill was mom's 2 cats. Got possums, squirrels, a fox, raccoons, moles, rabbits, feral cats. Best dog dad ever had, had him from a week old rescue until he died 15 years later. Dad buried him on a hill overlooking the farm.
