Water is a very good temperature stabilizer. You can notice it real easy with towns on the coast.
Such as...... The gulf water temperature off the coast of Louisiana is about 83 degrees right now. Grand Isle right on the coast will be 76 tonight and 84 tomorrow. But where I live about 100 miles north of the coast will be 70 tonight and 89 tomorrow. The closer you live to the coast the closer your temperature will stay to that 83 degree water temperature.
The same thing happens with humidity (water) in the air. Places with very low humidity have wider temperature swings.
