Adrian Billheimer, Thank you for your kind post. The original splitter came from a picture ( no blueprints). The first splitter we built is rated at 30 ton, this new one will be over 40-50 ton, building one will get you by a lot cheaper, most are running from $1700.00- 2300.00 for a good one. Ours will have around $1000.00-$1200.00 for parts and supplies, not counting the labor,so you can see there will be quite a savings. Figure when we are done we will have around lower side of $1200.00,but it should last for years. Our original one ( in grey color) has split over 4 to 500 cord of wood since new. We just wanted the second one in case one fails and one can stay at my daughters place. Saves from moving them around back and forth from home to daughters home.My other daughter who passed away loved working with firewood, think of her always especially when doing firewood. If you decide of building one,it just takes some time as we have more time than money, lol.Wishing you success if you decide to build one. Warmest regards, LOU
