I too bought a cheap $10 right angle grinder. Tried to remove cutoff wheel and the gear housing fell apart. I do have a great cheapie circular saw sharpener from HF. Can't count on the calibration of the angle device, but if you know how to set it up using a sharpie and a good eye, it works great.
Many things I buy from HF require two trips to town, one to buy it and one to return it. I try to stay away form things with a motor, wimps.
Bought HF EVOM to measure frequency, junk.
Keep receipt and junk items they will give you a refund.
The last time I purchased a leak down tester, HF told me I could return it. They told me too many people buy a tester, use it, return it and want a refund.
I purchased a timing light, it was so dim, I couldn't see the timing marks. They took it back and I purchased the other model they had, It worked great.
So if you buy a chainsaw, ask them if you can return it if it's junk? Or buy the extended warranty, then I think you can return it no questions. They are making it harder to return some items.
For me, I go past the store all the time, so returning thing isn't a big deal.
