If you're using a battery 'you found around the farm' the battery may be the problem or other issues.To see what you have hook up jumper cables to the battery and if it starts fine then 1)your battery is weak or 2)You need a bigger battery.If it still won't crank over right then you have other problems.BTW I always buy and install a battery with more CCA than is called for the tractor or vehicle, nothing will burn up a starter quicker than a subpar battery
