Hi Buick Totally agree with your post. It's amazing how many tractors I go to with starting problems, with the finest made in china new under rated battery cables, or those stupid bolt on terminals fitted. If I go to a tractor and the customer says he's got new terminals it's 100% he's got the bolt on junk. I refuse to fit them on the principal it will take me longer to fit than they will probably last from some i have seen. I buy the largest cable I can fit, then use crimp on ends, or solder them and heat shrink the terminal joints to. I never get problems again with wires and terminals if the customer looks after them. I love the guy that puts a new starter on, it makes no difference, then I get called,I start the diagnostic process, and the first thing I find is 2" of green/white corrosion on the battery terminals and 3/4 of the ends and bolts rotted off along with every other terminal corroded or heat burned. There was actually nothing wrong with the old starter when we put some of them back on !!!!!. Regards Robert
