Same size cylinder in the 28 ton speeco/huskee, well in diameter anyway. The beam on that one is just under 6" at the web, not sure about the flange or web thickness, just ran out in the rain and measured under the tarp. No idea of how many pounds per foot or the shape used per A.I.S.C. I'd imagine anything similar to what is used on one of these Huskees or Speeco models would work. Did you follow Lou from Wisconsin's post on their recent splitter build ? That was a good pictorial view of building a log splitter. I've seen a lot of older factory and or home built ones that use a variety of steel shapes, some even with 2 pipe side by side, amazing how many different ways or ideas one can use to build something to split wood.
