Something is screwy with health care in general but I dont know what to do to fix it. I know one thing though- the government is too big and inefficient to fix ANYTHING.
I pay for our insurance myself. I'm self employed. Premiums have gone up every year. Twice last year - figure that one out. Werent they supposed to go down. We keep raising our deductible to keep premiums in check, we're both young and healthy. $555 / month now for 6500 deductible and 11,000 out of pocket max.
Had a kid this year. Finally met the deductible. $10,000 in bills only cost me $3000. Which I didn't think was terrible. Makes me mad though to think of the low lifes with 10 kids from 10 guys, getting all sorts of government programs. I know they didn't pay 3000 for each of their kids.
