Oliver Super 55 (gas)

I have an Oliver Super 55 that has been in the
family since the 1960's. It doesn't get used
anymore and I am thinking about restoring it -
possibly correcting the ignition flaw (which is
why it doesn't get used anymore). Has anybody
ever retrofitted one of these tractors with a
negative ground and an electronic ignition system? Also, the cowl over the top of the engine and gas
tank is virtually gone because of rust. I have
been wanting to replace this thing for a long time,
but nobody sells new ones and used ones are
probably in the same condition. What is the
best course of action for something like that?
