Seems to me Glensters idea is simply to place an ammeter in the circuit FROM his Battery TO the BAT terminal on his Voltage Regulator on his tractor in case his wiring harness might have a problem.
I don't see it that he's going to us the VR that happens to be in the picture, ONLY that he intends to place an ammeter in series FROM the VR on his tractor TO the battery in his tractor.
What's all the discussion about the VR in the picture all about??

THEREFORE
I don't see any argument about is it or is it not the correct VR,,,,,,,,,or how is the VR to be wired,,,,,,,,,,,,or which terminal on the VR in the picture is the BAT terminal. UNLESS THATS THE VR HE IS USING and if so I assume he's smart enough to read its terminal labels.
But maybe I mis interpreted his post also
As I posted to him whatever VR (or Cutout Relay) he uses needs a good ground as well as the genny and how to effectively by pass the VR altogether by grounding the gennys Field and by passing the cutout relay which connecting the ammeter to the gennys (0r VR's) ARM post accomplishes.
Maybe I didn't understand his post either????????? If he intends to use that ammeter between his own tractors VR (NOT the one in the picture) and his own battery to verify a wiring or wiring harness problem, the idea looks fine to me
